North Wellington FC is proud to support Football For All, a community programme delivered in partnership between Capital Football and the Wellington Phoenix.
The initiative uses football as a vehicle to foster inclusion, participation, and hauora, helping tamariki and rangatahi aged 6–17 get involved in club football, futsal, or school teams — no matter their circumstances.
Football For All focuses on breaking down barriers that can prevent young people from joining the game, including:
Registration costs
Equipment needs
Transportation assistance
Communication difficulties
The programme supports participants through a range of options designed to make getting on the pitch easier and more accessible. One of these options, Kākāriki, offers full participation support — including registration fee coverage, new boots and team kit, transport assistance, and guidance from a dedicated Community Coordinator who helps families settle into their club and stay connected through the season.
There are multiple ways to take part in Football For All:
Club Football (ages 4+)Participants can join a Capital Football club for the full season. Teams are generally based on where you live, though specific requests can be made. The main football season runs from April to September each year.
School Football (ages 13–18)Participants can receive support to represent their school team, with facilitation between the programme and schools to enable participation during the school term. Support for school tournaments is also available on a case-by-case basis.
If your whānau, a friend, or someone in our community could benefit from Football For All, we encourage you to explore the programme and get involved.
Together, we can ensure football truly is for everyone.
