Junior, Youth & Women’s Development Officer

North Wellington FC is seeking a driven, organised, and football-minded leader to take up the role of Junior, Youth & Women’s Development Officer. This is a rare opportunity to join one of Wellington’s most ambitious community clubs in a role that blends technical development, coach mentoring, and programme leadership.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Football (strategy) and Club Manager (operations), this full-time role is responsible for:

  • Leading all operations and communications across our junior and youth social football programmes

  • Strengthening pathways for junior, youth, and female players, including pre-TDP and academy programmes

  • Delivering high-quality, age-appropriate training frameworks and game day experiences

  • Mentoring and upskilling coaches across junior and girls’ teams

  • Driving female football growth, from girls-only grades to women’s first team and reserves

  • Planning and delivering holiday programmes, skill centres, and goalkeeper development initiatives

You’ll work flexibly across the week and weekends, supported by a forward-thinking football department and a club committed to values-led development.

Who We’re Looking For

You are a motivated football practitioner with a proven track record in youth or female football environments. You’ll be comfortable leading both on and off the pitch, and just as capable in front of a room of parents as you are on the training ground with young players.

Essential attributes include:

  • A NZF “C” Licence (or currently working towards completion)

  • Strong planning and administrative skills

  • Eligibile visa to work in NZ

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or football programme delivery

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management

  • Passion for youth development, inclusivity, and community football

Women’s Assistant Coach

As an Assistant Coach, you will work closely with the Head Coaches to help deliver a high-performance training and match environment, ensuring players are well-prepared for competition. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of North Wellington FC while continuing to develop as a coach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and delivering training sessions that align with the club’s playing philosophy.
  • Provide technical and tactical support to players during training and matches.
  • Help with match preparation, opposition analysis, and in-game tactical adjustments.
  • Deliver individual and small-group coaching to aid player development.
  • Support the implementation of fitness, conditioning, and recovery programs.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider coaching and support staff to enhance overall team performance.
  • Contribute to post-match analysis and provide feedback to players.
  • Foster a positive and professional team culture both on and off the field.

Requirements

  • Minimum OFC C Licence (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Experience coaching at a senior level, preferably within a competitive club environment.
  • Strong understanding of modern football tactics, player development, and team management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a structured coaching team.
  • Must have the right to work in New Zealand

North Wellington FC Matchday Team – Scoreboard Operator (Volunteer Role)

North Wellington FC is looking for a dedicated Scoreboard Operator to assist during Men’s and Women’s First Team matches from March to September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the Club and be at the heart of matchday operations.

Role Description

As a Scoreboard Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating the scoreboard during all home matches for our Men’s and Women’s First Teams.

  • Ensuring accurate and timely updates of the score, match time, and other key details.

Requirements

  • Availability to attend all Men's and Women's home matches throughout the season.

  • A basic understanding of football scoring and match flow.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused for the full match.

  • No prior experience required—full training will be provided!
