Whether you are looking to register for the 2026 season or just want to enjoy a free day out with the family, we would love to see you at the Alex Moore Park Sport and Community Hub on Saturday 21 March.
As a foundation partner of the Alex Moore Park Sport and Community Inc (AMPSCI), North Wellington FC is excited to support this upcoming Open Day. The event is a celebration of our local Johnsonville community and an invitation for everyone to see what makes the Hub such a vital part of our suburb.
Date: Saturday 21 March
Time: 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Location: Alex Moore Park Sport and Community Hub, Johnsonville
Cost: Free admission
The Hub will be buzzing with activity throughout the afternoon. Along with the various sports on display, there will be plenty of free entertainment for the kids, including:
Free Sausage Sizzle: Located by the balcony stairs for everyone to enjoy.
Free Bouncy Castle: Set up on the grass area by the driveway.
Kids’ Entertainment: Head inside for free balloon twisting and a dedicated colouring and craft table.
Prize Draw: On entering the building, make sure you grab a ticket! We have plenty of prizes up for grabs (especially for the kids). The draw takes place at 2:30 pm, and you must be present to win.
Live Sport: Grab a seat and enjoy the cricket game which will be running throughout the afternoon.
The Bar and Cafe will also be open, providing a great space to relax and connect with other locals.
Our club will be active on the turf all afternoon. We are running small-sided games for players of all ages and abilities. It is a relaxed, no-pressure environment for children to try football for the first time or for returning players to get their boots back on before the season officially kicks off.
Our coaches and club members will be there to help facilitate the games and ensure everyone has a fair go and a bit of fun.
With the 2026 season approaching, we know many families have questions about registrations and team placements. Our volunteers will be stationed at the Hub specifically to help you navigate the season ahead.
Come have a chat with us if you want to learn more about:
Junior and Youth Registrations: How to sign up and what to expect for the winter season.
Finding the Right Fit: Information on different age grades and finding a team that matches your child's experience and ability.
Coaching and Volunteering: How you can support the club as a coach, manager, or general volunteer.
Community Programmes: Information on our development initiatives and how we foster a love for the game.
North Wellington FC has a long history in this area, formed by the coming together of legacy clubs like Johnsonville, Onslow Fc, and Newlands Paparangi United. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive club that reflects the spirit of our community.
Events like the Open Day are a great chance for us to connect with our neighbours and welcome new families into the North Wellington fold.
We look forward to seeing you at the Hub on the 21st!
