North Wellington FC Appoints Henry Fisher as Junior, Youth & Women Development Officer

North Wellington FC is excited to announce the appointment of Henry Fisher as our new Junior, Youth & Women Development Officer, commencing mid-January 2026.

Henry joins North Wellington FC with an exceptional background in youth development, community football, and women’s academy environments across the UK and the United States. His experience and leadership will play a key role in strengthening our player pathways, supporting our coaches, and enhancing development opportunities for junior, youth, and female players across the club.

Henry arrives from the Aston Villa Women’s Academy, where he served as a Goalkeeper Coach across the Foundation Phase and Youth Development Phase. His role involved delivering high-quality technical sessions, leading recruitment events, and working closely with players and families within a professional academy environment.

Alongside this, Henry has been a Football in the Community Officer with the Aston Villa Foundation, responsible for leading coaching programmes, leading and supporting sessional staff, delivering PE and CPD in schools, coordinating events and centres, and mentoring new and emerging coaches.

Complementing his work at Aston Villa, Henry also brings international experience from the United States, coaching with Global Premier Soccer (South Carolina) and Challenger Sports (North Carolina), where he worked across U8–U18 boys and girls programmes, planned and delivered technical curriculums, and led teams at regional and national tournaments.

His wider coaching and development background includes roles with AFC Telford United in the UK, The Albion Foundation, and time as a Sports Lecturer, providing him with a strong foundation in player development, learning environments, and coach education.

Henry holds an impressive range of qualifications including the UEFA B Licence, FA Level 2 (Football & Goalkeeping), FA Mentoring Adults, FA Psychology Level 1, Talent ID certifications, Mental Health Awareness in Sport, and multiple coach-developer focused courses.

Club President Fraser Kirby welcomed the appointment, saying:

“We’re incredibly glad Henry has chosen North Wellington as his new home. His experience across academy, community and high-performance environments will immediately strengthen our junior, youth and women’s pathways. This is a hugely exciting appointment for the club.”

Henry has expressed his enthusiasm to join North Wellington and contribute to our next phase of growth.

"Joining North Wellington FC is a fantastic opportunity, and I can’t wait to help strengthen the club’s development pathways. I’m passionate about creating positive, high-quality environments for players and coaches, and I’m excited to contribute to the club’s long-term vision.”

Henry’s arrival marks a significant step forward as North Wellington continues to invest in its development programmes, coaching support structures, and long-term player outcomes.

We look forward to welcoming him to Alex Moore Park in January.
