North Wellington Football Club is proud to announce that as of 30 September 2025, our updated Club Constitution has been officially registered with the Incorporated Societies Register.
This milestone comes after members gathered at a Special General Meeting on 29 September to consider and vote on the adoption of the new Constitution. With the motion approved, the Club was able to immediately finalise and register the updated document.
The new Constitution ensures the Club is aligned with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, which requires all incorporated societies to adopt compliant constitutions by early 2026. By completing this well ahead of the deadline, North Wellington FC is now fully compliant and future-ready.
For more on the Act and its requirements, you can read the legislation here: Incorporated Societies Act 2022.
Key benefits include:
✅ Compliance: Meeting new legislative requirements early.
✅ Governance: Strengthened transparency and accountability.
✅ Future focus: A strong foundation for growth on and off the field
Registration is only the first step. To remain compliant under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, North Wellington FC must also meet annual reporting obligations:
Annual Financial Statements – completed within 6 months of each balance date.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Annual Return – filed with the Incorporated Societies Register, along with the financial statements.
These requirements help ensure the Club continues to operate transparently and remains accountable to its members.
This achievement reflects months of behind-the-scenes work from our Committee, as well as the support and engagement of members.
We extend a huge thank you to all who attended the Special General Meeting and took part in this important process. Your input and presence made this milestone possible.
This is another strong step in building a well-governed, future-focused Club that our community can be proud of.
