On Sunday 27 July, we celebrate a massive milestone for one of our most influential players, Jade Heather will make her 100th appearance for the North Wellington Women’s First Team!
Since arriving from Waterside Karori in 2020, Jade has been a driving force in our midfield, a versatile, intelligent player with a wand of a left foot and a knack for producing magic when it matters. She was instrumental in our Capital Premier title win in 2021 and continues to be at the heart of everything we do.
Jade becomes just the third female player in club history to reach the 100-game milestone for the Women’s First Team, joining club legends Shona Mackay and Roz Wallace, who both sit proudly with 200+ appearances to their names. Some special company to be in.
A natural leader, Jade was named captain this season and has thrived in the role. Head Coach Ben Coom shared:
🗣️ “This is my first season as head coach of North Wellington, and my first job was selecting a captain. Jade was the standout choice. She’s a leader on and off the field, supportive of what we’re trying to achieve, and a big part of our recent positive results. As a player, she’s outstanding — very much the focal point of our attack and has an unbelievable left foot. We’ve been treated to some top finishes this season. Congratulations Jade on 100 appearances — I hope I get the chance to write a piece when you hit 200.”
Jade, thank you for your leadership, loyalty, and quality, here’s to a century of brilliance for North Wellington FC and many more to come. 💙
