Alex Moore Park Open Day Brings Sport and Community Together


Alex Moore Park was buzzing with community activity on Saturday as Alex Moore Park and the founding memebers hosted a vibrant Open Day, bringing together sport, family fun, and community spirit.

 

The event, which featured a mix of football activities surrounding a game of cricket and members of the founding clubs, which was designed to encourage locals to get involved in sports or a club they may not have tried before. Children and adults alike embraced the opportunity to kick a ball around, and soak up the atmosphere of a true community sports day.

 

A bouncy castle, raffle, and balloon twisting kept families entertained all afternoon, with plenty of laughter and smiles filling the park. The Open Day also served as a fantastic showcase for the sporting hub, demonstrating the variety of activities and opportunities available to the community.

 

The success of the day would not have been possible without the dedication Alex Moore park members,  NWFC club players and committee members, who generously gave up their time to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their efforts in organising and running activities were instrumental in creating an inclusive and welcoming experience for all.

 

North Wellington President Fraser Kirby expressed gratitude to everyone involved, saying, “It was a fantastic afternoon, and it’s great to see so many people engaging with sport in a fun and accessible way. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this day happen—your efforts are truly appreciated.”

 

With strong turnout and enthusiastic participation, the Open Day reaffirmed Alex Moore Park’s role as a vital hub for sport and community connection.
